Upcoming Events

STATEWIDE EMERGENCY ALERT TEST

Begins: 4/2/2026 - 10:00 a.m.
Ends: 4/2/2026 - 12:00 p.m.

As part of the Texas Division of Emergency Managment's (TDEM) commitment to readiness, they have scheduled a coordinated statewide drill to test alerting capabilities to build readiness and confirm reliability of these emergency notifications.

The test will take place on Thursday, April 2nd between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Alerts will include phones, emails, and outdoor sirens. You may receive several alerts.

Reminder that this is only a test and no action is required.

Good Friday Closure

Begins: 4/3/2026
Ends: 4/3/2026

All City offices, Library, and Landfill will be closed on Friday, April 3rd to observe Good Friday. 

Memphis Convalescent Easter Egg Hunt

Begins: 4/3/2026 - 4:45 p.m.
Ends: 4/3/2026 - Till Over

You're invited to the Annual Memphis Convalescent Center Easter Egg Hunt on Friday, April 3rd starting at 4:45 p.m. Free hot dogs afterwards. Celebrate spring with residents, families, and friends as everyone enjoys a joyful easter egg hunt together.

Chamber Easter Egg Hunt

Begins: 4/4/2026 - 10:00 a.m.
Ends: 4/4/2026 - Till Over

The Chamber of Commerce will have their Annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Memphis City Park on Saturday, April 4th starting at 10:00 a.m., weather permitting.

Regular City Council Meeting

Begins: 4/13/2026 - 6:00 p.m.
Ends: 4/13/2026 - Till Business is over

The Memphis City Council will have their Regular City Council meeting in the Council Room at Memphis City Hall, 721 W Robertson starting at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Agenda will be posted by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

City of Memphis General Election

Begins: 4/20/2026
Ends: 5/2/2026

The City of Memphis General Election will be on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

Early Voting will be on Monday, April 20th, April 22nd to April 24th, April 27th and April 28th at the Hall County Courthouse Annex 101 S 9th Street from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Election Day Voting will be at the Memphis Community Center 721 W Robertson Street from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The following candidates will be on the ballot:

  • Ward 1 - Melissa Hibbitts and Victor L. Flores
  • Ward 3 - Jill Cromwell and Micah Casas

There will not be an election for the following as they are unopposed:

  • Ward 2 - No Candidate (current is Lloyd Roberts)
  • Ward 4 - Winfred McQueen
  • Mayor - Joe Davis

Annual Memphis Little Theatre Dinner
