Council Meeting Agendas & Minutes

As the legislative branch of the City of Memphis government, the Council holds open public meetings where local laws, policies, and basic decisions for the city are discussed and decided. Council members are elected by wards.

The City Council meets the second Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Room at City Hall. The agenda is posted 3 business days before the date of the meeting in compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 551. Minutes are posted within a timely matter after approval.

On April 29, 2026, the City of Memphis created a YouTube Channel to upload recorded Council Meetings. Please check the link at the bottom of this screen to find recorded meetings.
